In celebration of Women's History Month we are pleased to present "Roles and Rolling Pins 2". The program, hosted by Dorothy Friedman August, showcases readings and performances by an exciting vibrant array of readers. The event focuses on the lives and writings of these artists and highlights the creative energy and spirit of all women.

Some Bios:

Chavisa Woods is the author of "The Albino Album", a novel (Seven Stories Press, 2013) and "Love Does Not Make Me Gentle and KInd" (Fly By Night Press, 2009). The second edition was released by Autonomedia Press under the Unbearables imprint in 2013. Her third book is forthcoming from Seven Stories Press in 2017 and she was recipient of the 2014 Cobalt Prize for Fiction and a finalist for the 2014 Lambda Literary Award.

Dorothy Friedman August is a widely published award winning poet with three books of poems and two forthcoming, L Shaped Room (to be published by Poets Wear Prada) and Drinking Alaska (to be published by Fly By Night Press) She's published in numerous magazines and anthologies including Partisan Review, Hanging Loose, Mudfish, Big Bridge, Many Mountains Moving and Tribes, Issue #12. etc. She edits WHITE RABBIT, a zine, and teaches writing at Lehman College.

Patricia Carragon's publication credits include Bear Creek Haiky, BigCityLit, Boog City, Clockwise Cat. Home Planet News, Tribes Magazine, etc.. Her book Cupcake Chronicle is forthcoming from Poets Wear Prada. She also hosts the Brooklyn based Brownstone Poets and is the editor-in-chief of its annual anthology.

Yuko Otomo is a visual artist and writer. She writes poetry, haiku, art criticism, essays and travelogues.

Gabriel Don received her MFA in creative writing at The New School, where she worked as the Reading Series Coordinator and Chapbook Competition Coordinator. Her work has appeared in publications such as The Brooklyn Rail, The Sydney Morning Herald, The Understanding Between Foxes and Light, A Minor, Westerly, Mascara Literary Review, The Legendary, Transtierros (translated into Spanish), Gargoyle 62, LiveMag! 12 and Three Rooms Press MAINTENANT 9. She teaches writing at BMCC.
