National Women’s History Month Luncheon to Feature The Honorable Barbara M.G. Lynn, March 2, 2016

DALLAS - Feb. 23, 2016 - PRLog -- National Women’s History Month Luncheon to Feature The Honorable Barbara M.G. Lynn, March 2, 2016

To celebrate National Women’s History Month, the local Dallas club of Altrusa International is especially pleased to feature The Honorable Barbara M.G. Lynn, speaking on the role of women in government and public service. Judge Lynn is a graduate of the University of Virginia and she received her J.D. at SMU School of Law. In 1999 she was nominated to a seat on the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas where she currently presides.

This luncheon will be held on Texas Independence Day, March 2, 2016, at The Old Red Museum of Dallas County History & Culture, 100 South Houston Street, Dallas, Texas 75202 from 11:30 – 1:30. Hosting the luncheon as honorary chair is The Honorable Frances J. Maloney, Retired Associate Justice for the Court of Appeals for the Fifth District, Sitting in Dallas.  Altrusa International is a global volunteer service organization whose purpose is to promote better communities through service by an international network of people with diverse backgrounds and experiences.

The Altrusa Club of DallasFoundation, Inc., is a 501(c) (3) tax­ exempt organization. It is one of twelve local area clubs promoting better communities through local service.  Silent auction proceeds benefit scholarships for legal, nursing, and pharmaceutical studies. Other community service projects include crime prevention, education, and basic supplies for women and children who have experienced domestic violence. This year, for example, our crime prevention fund will donate a protective ballistic vest to a Dallas Police dog.  More at:   AltrusaDallas on Facebook

Individual tickets are $75 per person. Tables of 10 are available for $750. The Museum parking garage is beneath the building. Additionally, both museum tour and parking tickets will be available at discounted prices. Handicapped parking is available at street level.
