Standing out in a crowded marketplace

The importance of standing out in business should not be understated.

I have been in business for over 20 years, yet I doubt wether any of you have ever heard of me or my business. My business has delivered thousands of excellent results to thousands of satisfied customers. Day after day, week after week, year after year. Always delivering a desired product in a professional and timely manner to the complete satisfaction of our clients. So what is this business you might ask and what relevance does this article have to you? Well I run a window cleaning business and have done for over 20 years. My point here is that in that time my business and myself are still relatively unknown to the greater population. You would think that a business that has been producing excellent results over such a long period, would be very well known. Well it is not and neither are any other window cleaning businesses in the industry. There are many who have been delivering excellent results over many years and are also unknown. I see this example in our industry and also see many examples in other industries.

Take the Real Estate Industry as an example; To me one company is the same as another. I couldn't tell you or decide wether one was better than another. They all seem the same. I mean I'm sure that there are thousands of fantastic people working daily to deliver excellent results for customers, but they all seem the same. So which one do I choose? How do I decide? It would really help if one of them would really STAND OUT!

It doesn't matter what industry you are in but if you are in business, you probably would like to be the market leader. So how do you achieve that?

1. Well I reckon you would want to be delivering an outstanding product for a start.

2. Deliver this product to your customer in as timely a manner as they need.

3. Make sure that they are completely satisfied with the outcome.

Now I know that this is happening in a multitude of businesses all over the world and is accomplished or not accomplished on a daily basis. There is also a million and one ways as to achieve these results but that is not what I want to highlight here today.

My point here is how do you make yourself or your business STAND OUT from the crowd? How do you alert potential customers that you even exist and that you are here for them? A quick scan over your present industry or surrounding environment will show up plenty of examples of individuals and businesses that are STANDING OUT!

My advice to anyone in business or in life is to STAND OUT! from the crowd. Rise up from the noise. Become a market leader or better still; become THE market leader. STAND OUT!
