Follow on Google News | Art Exhibit in Beverly Hills Features the Soul of BrazilBy: Rubia van Roodselaar The collection of paintings portray the most publicized member of the Samba school parade, the Samba Queen, in a diverse display of revelry as she marches in song to cheer the crowd in the spirit of celebration. The pre-Lenten festival is paraded in many countries but not quite as grand and in rich in variety and performance as its Brazilian counterpart. Feathers and sequins embellish this most diverse public concentration of craft and artistic expression as the parade combines theatre arts, costume design, makeup and special effects, sculpture and musical talent. The exhibition is open to the public Monday to Friday from 9am to 1pm through March 3rd in Beverly Hills. The Consulate General of Brazil in Los Angeles is located at 8484 Wilshire Boulevard, suite 300. The gallery is annexed to the consulate and admission is free.
