Co-producing Inheritance with Daniel James (Canon Blue, Joy Williams, Among Savages), Audrey’s new album projects a unique soundscape through a cinematic-styled approach featuring lush textures and wide, expansive rhythms that allow her voice to glide effortlessly over a diverse landscape of prayerful contemplation.

Already garnering wide critical acclaim, Audrey and Inheritance have been, or will be, featured by a diverse, wide-reaching group of media, including:  RELEVANT, Christianity Today, NewReleaseToday.com, Under The Radar, Worship Leader Magazine, Catholic World Report, “Worship with Andy Chrisman,” Leading Hearts, Aleteia, LeSEA’s “The Harvest Show,” AXS.com, CCM, HollywoodJesus.com, HearItFirst.com, Catholic Chronicle, The Church Collective Podcast and many more.

Featured on the new album are the original song “Even Unto Death (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uAfp8vg4Jz8),” written after Audrey heard of yet another martyrdom in the Middle East, “It Is Well With My Soul (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zY5o9mP22V0),” a special dedication to honor Audrey’s late grandmother, “Holy, Holy, Holy (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AgHrNNM23p8),” a cinematic take on the Reginald Heber / John B. Dykes hymn, and more.

Approaching all the songs on Inheritance with a sense of delicate appreciation balanced with artistic integrity, the new recording infuses a modern sensibility with Audrey’s influences to form something entirely new.

“Audrey Assad had provided hints of both impact and inspiration on projects past, but Inheritance provides as much substance and style as any record will likely hold in 2016…Inheritance is a brilliant album, a heartening reminder of the centrality of Jesus in all things that captivates the listener, including but not limited to its musically. It’s a rare triumph on both counts that should glow beautifully as one of the year’s best.” – CCM Magazine (5-Star review)

“There are no filler tracks…If you want to experience an uplifting, soul-stirring, stunning and worshipful album, look no further. This is sure to be one of the top worship albums of the year.” – NewReleaseToday.com

“This is not just another hymns album. It’s an honest work that you feel coming from Audrey’s heart. The powerful, yet subtle layers of sound and prayerful sonic atmosphere make it very conducive to worshipers lifting their own hearts in personal devotion.” – Worship Leader Magazine

“Walking the tightrope between reverence and innovation, Inheritance is Audrey Assad's latest triumph. It's so rare for a hymns project to turn out this balanced, and it only demonstrates further how much Assad has grown both in her craft and in her efforts to give the Church something new to artistically appreciate. Definitely a landmark album for the year, this is a valuable Inheritance, indeed.” – JesusFreakHidout.com

Inheritance is…simply beautiful, almost majestic really! [Audrey’s] voice is breathtaking and simple at the same time, creating an atmosphere of worship and a stunning presentation of sound all at once.” – HollywoodJesus.com

“Songs like 'I wonder as I wander' are spine tingling moments of magic. And 'How Can I Keep From Singing' is one of those songs that you have to close your eyes to and let it wash over you when listening… ‘It Is Well With My Soul’ - it will leave you with tears.” – LouderThanTheMusic.com (5-Star Review)

In many ways, a hymns album is a return home for Audrey who grew up learning to sing in a Plymouth Brethren community. “I was raised in a church where we didn’t use any instruments on Sunday mornings,” Audrey notes. “I learned to sing there, from the old hymnbooks, in four-part harmony, with my family and my neighbors. It was multi-generational, it was deep and rich and beautiful, and like most of my favorite worship music, it was steeped in community.”
