Abu Dhabi City stormwater master plan as per Abu Dhabi’s vision 2030

ABU DHABI, UAE - Feb. 12, 2016 - PRLog -- Future Drainage & Stormwater Networks UAE conference was successfully launched at Yas Viceroy Abu Dhabi Hotel in Abu Dhabi UAE and was endorsed by Abu Dhabi City Municipality, Department of Municipal Affairs. This conference has been established to act as the official platform for the Abu Dhabi Stormwater Master Plan 2030 and was brought to the UAE in order to help facilitate the ongoing requirements for the design, construction, refurbishment, operation and maintenance of effective, stormwater, sewerage and drainage networks across the Emirates.

Abu Dhabi City Municipality engineers discussed the overview of Abu Dhabi City stormwater master plan as per Abu Dhabi’s vision 2030. UNESCO-IHE’s professor explored the latest in climate changing and the adaptation to extreme events. WS Atkins representatives shared case studies from Prince Sultan Cultural Centre Development & North Al Wathba Major Project about Stormwater Solution. Day one was concluded by a workshop delivered by Abu Dhabi City Municipality (ADM) officials discussing the process, approvals and permits at ADM.

Solution providers presented their latest systems, equipment and solutions for drainage & stormwater networks: ACTION, MACE contractors, Frankische, Hydro International, ADS, Stormtech, Eco Engineering Solutions & Enregis.

Day two (February 11) of the conference provided a platform for presentations about upcoming stormwater related projects, impacts of irrigation, dewatering and drainage water on groundwater rise in Abu Dhabi Emirate and other vital topics in the drainage industry. There was also an interesting panel discussion about managing emergencies.
