PORTLAND, Ore. - Feb. 11, 2016 - PRLog -- Sophos, one of the leading companies on web security released in their 2015 report that they predicted that the need for cyber security skills will continue to escalate and the available professionals to work on security problems will not be able to meet the demand.  In particular, they predict a lack of incident response and education. Fortunately, for Joomla site developers, there is a new educational resource available on how to respond to a Joomla site being hacked.  It is a free online guide titled, "How to Fix a Hacked Joomla Site." - http://www.bluebridgedev.com/joomla-hacked

The guide includes what sort of damage being hacked causes, signs of a successful attack, how to find hacked files and database entries, getting a site removed from a blacklist, improving Joomla security, and a section on why staying up-to-date is critical for open source applications like Joomla.

The guide is published by the Joomla services company Blue Bridge. "It's not perfect," said the owner John Hooley, "but it provides a wealth of information that I wish I had when I first faced this problem as a freelancer.  If it proves helpful to developers and webmasters, we plan to expand it and provide code samples and more tools they can use to help their clients."

Hooley explained that though there are resources online for helping people recover a hacked Joomla site, there has been no one cohesive resource that lays out the steps for responding to the damage that a hacked site can cause. That is, until now.
