ESSPL's HR Practices wins National HRD's 5th Zenith Runners-Up Award

The 5th Zenith Rewards and Recognition Programme showcased bench-marked HR Practices which are unique and innovative. The Best HR Practice nominations covered multiple areas like Employee Engagement, Retention, Leadership Development, Employee Practices and Policies, Business Partnering and Industrial Relations. ESSPL's HR practices won Runners up in two categories viz., Employee Engagement (ESSPL's on-boarding practices) and Retention (ESSPL's Health Call).

Employee engagement, a new way of employee onboarding is highly practiced at ESSPL. Onboarding is not induction, rather an Institution and the process begins even before someone is hired. There are three phases namely Pre-Joining, Joining-D Day and Post Joining. It involves some of the key processes like initial call from HR, welcome letter to the candidates’ parents/spouse, getting the logistics ready, presenting the joining kit, team lunch with new joinee, knowledge transfer & goal setting.

Employee retention at ESSPL is best done through a programme called "Health Call". The purpose of this initiative is to bridge the gap of disengagement that new recruits may develop within first few months of joining. It aims to create a better employer–employee relations and provides a platform for employees to share their concerns.
