ATLANTA - Feb. 10, 2016 - PRLog -- Following up their highly successful double auction in January, Atlanta auction house Peachtree and Bennett announces their upcoming auction to be held at 6pm on Saturday, February 13, 2016 at the Atlanta Expo Center (3640 Jonesboro Road SE, Atlanta, GA 30354).

The auction includes over 600 exceptional lots. The centerpiece of the sale is a group of Fine Chinese Objects which are fresh to the market, including a striking nineteenth-century room divider estimated to sell for $2,000 to $4,000; an oversized Famille Rose porcelain bowl from the eighteenth or nineteenth century, estimated at $6,000 to $10,000; and an oversized Famille Verte porcelain charger with crane decoration, estimated at $2,500 to $4,000.

The sale also features a late addition of 25 lots of fine jewelry and timepieces. Standouts are a delicately hand-fabricated 18K yellow gold Victorian brooch (estimated at $22,000 to $25,000) and a vividly beautiful 18K white gold and Jadeite brooch that can also be worn as a pendant (estimated at $6,500 to $7,500). Timepieces are from highly-desired makers Patek Phillipe Calatrava, Movado, Rolex, Le Coultre, and Cyma.

Additional highlights of the auction include:

• Hand-knotted antique Serapi Medallion rug with vegetal motifs. This room-sized rug has an exceptionally-beautiful design, with vibrant colors still intact. Est. $6,000/$10,000
• Richly detailed oil painting of an Italian landscape scene. This painting is of special interest because of its attribution to English painter Thomas Jones (1743–1803), based on its provenance in an Albany, Georgia collection. Est. $3,000/$5,000
• Large gilt bronze vase depicting a harvest scene by French sculptor Antonin Larroux (1859–1913). Est. $2,000/$4,000
• Elegant early-twentieth-century Christofle Bronze Vase Aux Serpents. Est. $10,000/$15,000
• Oil on canvas landscape by English artist Gainsborough Dupont (1754-1797), nephew of Thomas Gainsborough. Est. $8,000/$12,000

Also of note is a an important item which will be offered at our March 12 auction: a rare Jefferson Davis ambrotype photograph (est. $25,000/$40,000). The photograph, ca. 1855, shows Davis during his tenure as U.S. Senator for the state of Mississippi. In addition to being a desirable artifact for Civil War collectors, the item is significant because it includes the copyright to the image. Peachtree and Bennett is pleased to accept consignments for this auction, which is expected to generate particular interest among collectors.

The full auction catalogue is available online at http://www.peachtreebennett.com. Online bidding, in addition to live and absentee bidding, is available through invaluable.com and liveauctioneers.com.
