Steve's Hot Dogs to Open New Location at The Pageant

Feb. 10, 2016 - PRLog -- St. Louis, MO., February 10, 2016 - Steve’s Hot Dogs has truly come full circle. Originally started as a hot dog cart to feed fans after concerts by local musician Steve Ewing, the business has grown to include two brick and mortar locations, and will now open a third spot at The Pageant.

Ewing, the frontman for local bands The Urge and The Steve Ewing band, is partnering with Pageant co-owners Pat Hagin and Joe Edwards to open the new location in March. Steve’s Hot Dogs at The Pageant will be located inside The Pageant in the box office and retail space known as “Suite 100.” Food will be sold from 6 pm to midnight on show nights, before and during concerts.

“The original idea for Steve’s Hot Dogs (http://steveshotdogsstl.com/) was simple. I wanted to feed the fans after our shows. It was late, there weren’t a lot of options, and I wanted to give them something delicious to round off a great night. So, we got a food cart, went out on the streets and business was good,” said Ewing. After realizing the seasonal limitations of his food cart business, Steve opened a brick and mortar location at Marconi & Bischoff in the Hill neighborhood in St. Louis. He launched a successful crowdfunding campaign in 2014 to open his second location in Tower Grove East in partnership with the Tick Tock Tavern.

The famously creative and experimental restaurant will offer a limited menu for this location, featuring crowd favorites including the Gorilla Mac & Cheese Dog, the Waffle Dog, a Chicago-style dog, and a build-your-own dog with 5 toppings. Dogs will be priced at $5 and $6. Seating will be limited in Suite 100, but customers will be allowed to take their food into the Pageant and into Halo Bar, which seats up to 150.

“I’ve known Steve for over 20 years. This collaboration is something we've been looking forward to for a long time. We’re thrilled to be able to offer another option for concert-goers here - especially one that’s quickly become a St. Louis food favorite,” said Pat Hagin, co-owner of The Pageant. “We know it will add to the unforgettable experiences our attendees have when they come to our events.”

Steve’s Hot Dogs at the Pageant will also be in close proximity to the new Delmar Hall when it opens later this Fall. Plans for the 800-capacity venue were unveiled by Edwards and Hagin just last week.

The new location is slated to open on March 4 for a KPNT concert featuring Metric and Joywave.
