Toplevel and Scribe drive down integration costs of powerful digital services

Partnership with Scribe adds to Toplevel’s low-code enablement for online service developers

STONEHOUSE, U.K. - Feb. 10, 2016 - PRLog -- Toplevel has partnered with Scribe Software (Scribe) to futureproof integration capabilities for Outreach, Toplevel’s flagship case management platform. The partnership will enable Outreach to leverage built-in Scribe connectors to achieve product-level integration with numerous applications. By removing the complexity of integration, the Outreach case management solution will help public sector organisations to curb costs and provide access to a greater choice of plug-and-play software solutions while self-build customers can easily configure applications using low-code tools to reduce delivery times.

In ‘Surfing the waves of disruption: Predictions for 2016’, TechMarketView identified enterprise software and app services as a key enabler of change with “customer facing ‘digital’ apps increasingly exploiting open APIs… [with the] objective to make more use of data assets and create solutions that are defined by their output not their technology.” To date, Government and public sector organisations embarking upon digital projects in the drive for digital transformation have devoted significant time and resource to integration with enterprise software products or bespoke database solutions to deliver multiple back end services. By removing the complexity of integration the Toplevel/Scribe partnership frees project leaders to focus on strategic direction rather than technical solutions. Integration can be typically achieved in days rather than weeks, reducing the common danger of software project overrun, and risks surrounding integration with business systems are greatly mitigated.

The Toplevel/Scribe partnership addresses integration issues in three key ways:

·     Integration ready – Outreach is built on industry-standard SQL Server and will be able to leverage a huge number of third party software products, including Microsoft Dynamics CRM, SAP, Salesforce, Oracle, Netsuite, SharePoint and MySQL, allowing ready-to-go integration to be achieved through a low code configuration approach. There are currently around 45 ready-made connectors, and these are being added to all the time.

·     Future-proof – The connector-based “plug-in” architecture allows for quick and simple version upgrades and even entire enterprise software product changes because connectors are kept current. Upgrading a COTS product no longer has to be a complex, drawn out project involving heavy coding and affecting multiple dependent systems. This helps customers avoid the costly effort of repurposing integrations while maintaining compliance and security.

·    Self-sufficient – GDS encourages organisations to take ownership of their own configurations and not be reliant on IT suppliers. Key to this are easy to configure low code Open Standards-based technologies to create tailored solutions that reduce the cost, effort and risk of deploying digital services without the need to retain highly skilled (and expensive) development staff. Low code configuration tools that can be used by IT administrators with little or no coding experience allow Toplevel’s self-build customers to create and own their own configurations and set up rules quickly, without weeks of programming effort. Customer-facing applications can be rapidly assembled with minimal hand-coding.

“This cements the relationship between the two organisations,” says Maarten Westdorp, Marketing Manager at Scribe EMEA. “Our large library of pre-built integrations to dozens of Enterprise software applications such as Oracle, SAP, SQL Server and Microsoft Dynamics is an ideal complement to Toplevel’s commitment to help public sector organisations drive down the costs of building powerful digital services and doing more with less.”

Jane Roberts, Director of Strategy at Toplevel states: “We know, through our extensive work with public sector organisations how many projects can suffer from challenges around the complex integration of multiple critical business systems, keeping up with manufacturer software changes and changing security requirements. All these aspects can affect time to launch, project costs and lead to unforeseen needs for future system re-design. That is why this partnership is so valuable to our customers.”
