Exit Planning Exchange Boston to host forum "The Boston Herald and Recapitalization"

The forum will be held at Babson College in Wellesley MA on February 25th.

WELLESLEY, Mass. - Feb. 8, 2016 - PRLog -- The Exit Planning Exchange (XPX) Boston invites business owners, and professional advisors to business owners, to hear the story about the Boston Herald’s journey through the purchase, capitalization and sale of a group of newspapers at a Babson College forum Thursday, February 25.

“Pat Purcell, The Boston Herald and Recapitalization: A great story not too many people know about” will be the subject of the forum offered by XPX on Thursday, Feb. 25. The event begins with breakfast and networking from 7:15 - 8:00 a.m. The program itself runs from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. at Olin Hall, Room 120.

BostonHerald Owner Pat Purcell and his advisors Paul Hartnett, formerly at Brown Rudnick and Michael Cronin, Founder of Weston Presidio will discuss their journey through the purchase of Community Newspapers, the private equity recapitalization and the subsequent sale of Community Newspapers.

Pat Purcell will answer questions such as key factors in choosing a private equity firm; and how running the business was different with outside equity partners.

Paul Hartnett will help us understand the key concerns to raise including when considering bringing on a private equity partner; and what the legal and structural factors are for an owner to consider in comparing a minority stake investment with the sale of a controlling stake.

Michael Cronin will discuss the process of evaluating a minority stake position versus control, and how involved  private equity firms get in the day-today-operations of the company they have invested in.
