Two Renovated Historic Buildings in the Cultural Center of Fredericksburg, VA set for Auction

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. - Feb. 5, 2016 - PRLog -- Two renovated historic buildings in the cultural center of Fredericksburg – currently serving as home to the Fredericksburg Area Museum & Cultural Center -- will be offered at auction Friday, Feb. 12.

The auction will be conducted by Nicholls Auction Marketing Group, in cooperation with Cushman & Wakefield | Thalhimer.

"It's very realistic to say that the outcome of this auction could play an important role in the future development of the city's historic district," said John Nicholls, president of Nicholls Auction Marketing. Nicholls said the buildings could be suitable for a wide variety of uses, including a restaurant, religious institution, bed & breakfast, or art gallery.

The buildings include the properties at 1001 Prince Anne Street and 215 William Street.

"These have long served as the city's historical and cultural focal point, but the key is going to be for someone with a vision to establish an anchor that can draw more people to these and to the surrounding business for fine dining, entertainment and business. I can see these being successful venues for a fine dining restaurant, church or educational organization, ad agency, law offices or even a craft brewery," said Nicholls.

Nicholls said bidding on the properties will open at $250,000.
