B.L.U.E Awards Will Honor the Achievements of Children With Special Needs

ATLANTA - Feb. 4, 2016 - PRLog -- Atlanta based award winning Gospel Duo, Nu Purpose, will present the B.L.U.E Awards. The B.L.U.E Awards stand for a Better Life Understanding Everyone. The awards will highlight the achievements of children that have been diagnosed with autism and other developmental disorders. Nu Purpose have been long time advocates of autism awareness; they have a son that is on the spectrum. For the past three years Nu Purpose have been participating in the Light It Up Blue Video Campaign, in which people of all ages show their support by wearing blue and creating positive message videos. Two years ago the duo created a program that celebrated the caregivers of children with special needs who often go unnoticed.

This year the group is stepping up and out the box to create and awards show that will celebrate the achievements of the children. This show was inspired by Nu Purpose’s son Tiger who has continued to excel in everything he attempts in spite of being diagnosed. Part of the reason for his success is that his parents have never treated him like he was different. “Tiger is a big personality he is fun, outgoing, and he affects everyone around him”, says his mother Kinderia Greene.

The B.L.U.E Awards will be honoring the Honorees in the following categories…

1) B.L.U.E Scholastic Achievement Award

2) B.L.U.E Athletic Excellence Award

3) B.L.U.E Congeniality Award

4) B.L.U.E Samaritan Award

5) B.L.U.E Survivor Award

6) B.L.U.E Tiger Award (Overall)

Honorable mentions will all receive the ... B.L.U.E Honorable Achievement Award.

The B.L.U.E Award will have a Blue Carpet reception complete with press and they have also secured special guest appearances by Mickey Mouse, SpongeBob Square Pants, The Teenage Mutant Turtles and more!

The B.L.U.E Awards will be held April 30, 2016 2:30 p.m. at St. Timothy United Methodist Church 5365 Memorial Drive Stone Mountain, GA 30083. The requested attire is semi-formal.
