Follow on Google News | Opening Feb. 6th at Lockside Art CenterLockside Art Center is proud to announce its first exhibition of 2016! "LANDSCAPES" will be open to the public on February 6 and continues through March 19 in our newly remodeled gallery.
By: Lockside Art Center This exhibition features paintings and photography by western New York artists including Joe Bucolo, Karen Carlton, Cynthia Cotten, Dan Curr, Maggie Eaton, Phil Eaton, Thomas Fitzrandolph, Kristine Gazzo, Don Little, Paul Martin, Manning McCandlish, Nona McQuay, Doug Mess, Mike Miller, Joan Shaw, Dennis Scherer, Mark Tollner, and Mike Weber. Our quaint art gallery gives you a more personal relationship with the art and allows you to take in each piece the way it was meant to be seen and experienced. There is nothing more classic to art than the Landscape. So to start the New Year we wanted to begin our new year’s journey into art with this classic theme. Landscapes can be beautiful and breathe taking, or can be ominous and foreboding. Yet that is just the truth behind Mother Nature, and it is truly captured in the art of this exhibition. This is a juried exhibition, meaning we will announce awards for composition, technique, and artistic insight. Lockside Art Center is an intimate art center located in downtown Lockport, NY, overlooking the Erie Canal at the Flight of Five Locks, walking distance to restaurants and tourist attractions. We provide a display gallery, studios, art research library, and a classroom. The center is open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday noon‑4pm and by appointment.. More information and an application are available on www.locksideartcenter.com, or call 716-478-0239 or email info@locksideartcenter.com. Manning McCandlish, Co-Director End
