PHILADELPHIA - Feb. 3, 2016 - PRLog -- Keiretsu Forum Mid-Atlantic (K4-MA) – with chapters in Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., Pittsburgh and New York, and part of the global Keiretsu Forum angel network – has named George Pelose as Regional Vice President.

Pelose will be responsible for developing and strengthening relationships with members, sponsors and partners and supporting entrepreneurs and their companies through the capital-raising process. He will also work to enhance the growth and success of each of the Keiretsu Forum Mid-Atlantic chapters and will oversee the special purpose investment vehicles offered to Keiretsu members.

“George Pelose brings an enormous skill set to Keiretsu Forum Mid-Atlantic and we are excited to welcome him as a partner. His finance and risk management skills will make him a go-to guy in our due diligence and funding efforts this year and into the future,” says Howard Lubert, K4-MA Area President. “He will be a tremendous asset to K4-MA and our partners and members.”

“I joined the Keiretsu team because of its quality deal flow, strong membership base, organized and effective forum meetings and thorough due diligence process,” says Pelose. “Howard and Vince [Leusner] have built K4-MA into a formidable angel investment group, and I look forward to working with them to expand the Keiretsu experience to many more entrepreneurs and accredited investors in the mid-Atlantic region.”

Pelose has over 25 years of experience in the financial services and corporate legal fields. In 2014 he retired from his role as Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel of Marlin Business Services Corp., a company that Pelose joined in 1999 as a start-up and was instrumental in growing into a successful publicly-traded financial services company and federally-regulated bank holding company. Prior to joining Marlin, Pelose was with Merrill Lynch Asset Management, providing legal and transactional advice to a portfolio management team that invested principally in bank loans and high-yield debt securities. Earlier in his career, Pelose was an attorney in the Business & Finance group of Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, and was a commercial loan officer with PNC Bank. Pelose received his BA and JD from the University of Pennsylvania, both with honors, and he is licensed to practice law in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Pelose is on the Advisory Committee for the Rowan Innovation Venture Fund and is on the Board of Directors of Tassl LLC. In addition to his role at Keiretsu, Pelose provides strategic business and legal advice to businesses in the region and serves as an Adjunct Professor at Rowan University, teaching business, legal and entrepreneurial courses.

About Keiretsu Forum
Keiretsu Forum is a global angel investor network with more than 1,500 accredited investor members throughout 40 chapters on three continents. Keiretsu Forum Mid-Atlantic (http://www.KeiretsuForum-MidAtlantic.com) consists of four chapters that function as a single entity – Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., Pittsburgh and New York. Keiretsu is a Japanese term for a group of organizations with interlocking business relationships, and Keiretsu Forum is a group of accredited investors with interlocking investment interests. Each chapter or region meets monthly to present rigorously screened candidates for investments. Keiretsu Forum’s mission is “Great Association with Quality Deal Flow.”

The Mid-Atlantic Region presents approximately five deals a month to its members and accredited investor guests. Slightly more than 45 percent get funded, which is significantly higher than the industry average. Approximately three dozen funding applications are submitted each month to the K4-MA DealRoom website, www.K4-DealRoom.com and vetted by industry specialists. About 10 are then vetted by members at monthly screening meetings where they participate in a highly structured presentation-and-feedback-learning session. Four to five of the screened companies are then invited to present at subsequent monthly Forum meetings. Entrepreneurs invited to move forward to the Forum meetings must participate in mandatory professional coaching sessions to optimize the delivery of their presentations and also agree to participate in the road show to all four cities in the region, with exposure to 100-150 investors. Subsequently, information about their companies is posted on the organization’s online global deal room for reference, and possible investment, by all 1,500+ Keiretsu members in all 40 chapters.
