Anthony Ford Awards 3 College Students with College Scholarships

"It's always better to give than to receive"! ..."I wake up every morning asking those around me-"How can I help you acheive your goals today?"...."I don't believe in 'hand-outs' but I firmly believe in 'hand-ups' ! These are just a few of the mantras that you hear when sitting down with the living legend-Anthony Ford. To know Anthony Ford is to know a giver. A selfless business entrepreneur with a heart for the people! When interviewed, one of his followers had this to say about him; "Anthony Ford is more than a 'person', he's more like an 'experience'...He gives, teaches and inspires-all at the same time..!"

Well Mr. Ford is definitely an inspiration!  On Saturday, January 16, Mr. Ford hosted the first annual Delores-Jean Scholarship Banquet where he awarded 3 entry level college students with scholarships to further their education.

Anthony explained that the month of May is a hard and trying month for him being that it's the month that his mother passed, it's also the month that his former mother-in-law and former father-in-law passed as well not to mention it's also the month that we in America take the time to celebrate "Mother's Day". He went on to explain how he woke up one day last year (mother's day) and just decided that he wouldn't be the victim anymore and that he would celebrate his mother's passing by honoring her instead. So he decided to start a scholarship foundation in honor of her life and legacy!

Back in May 2015 as Anthony was being honored for appearing on the cover of the "Small Business Today" magazine, he announced that he'd be giving out 3 college scholarships, he spoke to each recipient that he had selected and told them that if they maintained a GPA of 3.0 or higher during their entry semester in college that he would award them with a scholarship going into the second semester of school. This was his way of giving them a "hand-up" instead of a "hand-out".

Needless to say, each student kept their end of the bargain up and so did Mr. Ford. Amongst the recipients were: Trevon Jones-A Freshman Football Player at William Penn University. Robert Morin-Student at the University of Houston. Brooke Vallaire-Student at the University of North Texas.
