United States Seeking Help to Prevent Being Conquered

America needs your help to ward off 11 other nations who are descending upon Miami this July. Do you know any female at college who plays basketball, volleyball, soccer or into track and field?

HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. - Feb. 3, 2016 - PRLog -- With just under 100 days until hundreds of female college athletes descend on the Sunshine state’s Southern tip to partake in the biggest collegiate event in the International Sport of Netball, the host team, The United States of America, needs players that want international sport competition experience to take on the world first hand.

The USA University Head coach, Ilze Gideons, explains the opportunities this brings for young women:  “Netball brings to the world stage a true team sport that allows all different heights and ability levels to come together to play on one team.  I’m excited to be able to work with you to teach you this sport played by 20 million people around the world.  I know you will come to love it as much as I have.  The great thing is it’s easy to pick up and as long as you can pass and catch a ball – I can teach you the rest.  Most importantly, it also is a call to arms to be patriotic, be part of something that few have done before, and it will also look great on your resume.”

The call that has been put out for any female American citizen (located anywhere on this great planet) between the ages of 16 and 27 who graduated after July 13th, 2015, is currently at a college working towards a diploma or degree, or about to start college this fall.   This includes an all-expenses paid trip to be trained and drafted to represent the United States of America during the 2016 FISU Women’s International University Netball Championship.   That’s right… all expenses paid trip for 2 weeks to sunny Miami, Florida to show pride in the stars and stripes while taking on 11 other nations battling to be queens of Netball.  The event will take place at St. Thomas University, in Miami, Florida.

“In addition to being a contender and representing the country in Netball, a spot on the team is a more than just a good way to be a role model to other female athletes in a top growing sport,” says Sonya Ottaway, President of Netball America Inc., (http://www.netballamerica.com/)whose organization is co-hosting the event:  “As host alongside FISU (http://www.fisu.net/) and the US International University Sports Federation (http://usiusf.org/), we are excited about the opportunities and growth this globally prestigious event presents for Netball in the Americas and for the entire international Netball community.”

Netball has roots stemming from women’s basketball, has been played throughout the world for over 110 years.  Now an International Olympic Committee (IOC) recognized sport this game is based on the principles of basketball however the goal shooters ‘wow’ the crowds as they shoot into a 10 foot high basket in which there is no backboard.  Players only have three seconds to pass the ball and with their aerial jumps to intercept and move the ball down the court, it’s a great spectator sport that is going to change the face of women sports in the United States.

Potential athletes who are interested in playing are asked to contact USANETBALLTEAM@NetballAmerica.com.  For event information and if you are a student wanting college credit or volunteer hours then visit www.WUCNetball.com
