Feb. 2, 2016 - PRLog -- Advanced Roofing, Inc. (ARI), Florida’s largest commercial re-roofing company, was built on a foundation of giving back. In the commercial roofing industry, it’s not only how the job’s performed, it’s who the people are doing it. President & CEO Robert Kornahrens has created a company with a heart by developing an engaged workforce where a commitment to the community we serve is at the core of our values and is important to our business. ARI employees provide help and support in the community, making a difference in the lives of many.

For more than two decades, ARI has partnered with several organizations in South Florida and throughout the nation to support philanthropic efforts through Kornahrens’s involvement in a variety of executive and leadership groups. From starting the ABC Roofing Apprenticeship program in 2014 to raising nearly $400,000 since 2002 to help fight Multiple Sclerosis (MS), ARI supports charities and community programs through a combination of commitment and passion; a company bringing together people and resources to do good.

For Kornahrens, leadership is about making a positive difference. “I started raising money for MS 12 years ago in support of my friend Mark Speedy who was diagnosed several years back with MS,” said Kornahrens. “He has gone through quite a struggle. However, I am happy to say after visiting with him recently, his health has improved greatly due to new medicines available through the MS research. Unfortunately, since starting our MS Bike Ride team, my two nieces have been diagnosed with the disease. Due to all your help, I was able to get them in treatment with some excellent doctors.”

The wheels are in motion for this year’s Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Bike Ride  taking place March 5-6, 2016.  For the 13th consecutive year, Kornahrens will be cycling from Miami to Key Largo and back on March 5 and March 6 (75 miles each way) to help raise funds for the Multiple Sclerosis Society. Last year, the “Tar Peddler/Solar Sprockets” team raised $12,797, with a staggering total of $399,150 raised over the past 12 years. “That is amazing, and it is all thanks to the support from our customers, friends, and family,” said Kornahrens.
