The 5th Public Sector Women in Leadership Victoria Summit 2016 will offer insights and advice for female empowerment, helping aspiring women in the Public Sector reach their full potential. Senior level leaders will share their experiences and present practical strategies to help individuals develop their leadership skills and how organisations can promote women’s empowerment in senior leadership roles.

Leadership success within the Victorian Public Sector requires unique skills, knowledge and resilience. Leaders from these environments must be high performing whilst often working with financial constraints, shifting priorities, operational uncertainty and cultural stagnation. In 2014, woman made up 37% of public service executives in Victoria, an increase from just under 30% since 2006.

Despite considerable progress, a significant gap remains in terms of gender representation in senior leadership roles. While organisations are working to rectify the situation, the key to accelerating change, largely rests with aspiring female leaders who have an opportunity to take charge of their career and seek out development opportunities.
