LAS VEGAS - Feb. 1, 2016 - PRLog -- There is No Hero in Heroin (TINHIH) is a non profit organization that has been incorporated in Nevada since 2013. TINHIH strives to make the public aware of the perils of heroin addiction and the fact we are in the midst of an epidemic. #BlackMonday2016 is part celebration of life/part memorial/part fund raiser. This will be TINHIH's 3rd annual signature event. There will be a symposium of speakers and musicians performing this evening. The speaker panel will have Mayor Pro Tem Steve Ross and Justice Court Judge Sullivan among them. Construction of a wall of colored carnations to memorialize those lost to heroin addiction, to honor those still in the throes of addiction and to celebrate people who have overcome their addiction. Dinner will be provided by Orange Catering for a donation. Raffle items to bid on. TINHIH is 100% volunteer driven so its operating costs are low. All proceeds will go toward TINHIH's mission to provide a sober living environment for 1 person for 1 month. To date, 15 scholarships have been awarded to local recovery homes.

#BlackMonday2016 will be held at Salvation Army Chapel at 2900 Palomino Lane Las Vegas, NV. Doors open at 5:30 pm and the event runs from 6 pm - 9 pm. All persons affected by addiction are encouraged to attend. There will also be a resource fair provided by over 25 entities that are addiction professionals and advocates. PACT coalition, West Care, Solutions Recovery, Salvation Army ARC and Foundations for Recovery will participate in the fair along with other addiction professionals. Addiction is the most underfunded health crisis in America today. We need to change the way we treat addiction. If we change public perception, we will have a chance to change public policy!
