ORLANDO, Fla. - Jan. 31, 2016 - PRLog -- ORLANDO, FL – (January 28, 2016) –  Indie game studio Astro Crow has announced that WordFail, an educational game designed to help players learn the proper usage of the most commonly misused words in English, will be available on iOS on “Two’sday, Too/To/2016” (Tuesday, 2/2/2016). These are mistakes that even native English speakers make, such as the differences between “too”, “to”, and “two”; “through”, “threw”, and “thorough”; “effect” and “affect”. For those who think they're an English-language master, there are even trickier questions.  This makes for a game even English professors will find challenging. The familiar visual style of a mobile device text messaging app makes WordFail instantly relatable to smartphone users young and old.

Downloading and playing WordFail has real world benefits, such as communicating more professionally in emails. Be it a client, an executive, or even a relative, making simple grammatical and spelling mistakes can make you appear unprofessional, or even rude, but this app is designed to help. WordFail is perfect for use in English classrooms as well. For teachers who are constantly seeing students making the same incorrect word choices, having them play WordFail to hone their vocabulary skills can make a big difference. Each of the game’s twenty levels focus on a specific set of words, and it provides instant feedback explaining proper word usage. Multiple questions about the same word set gives the player the opportunity to hone their skills. It’s effective whether students are learning English as a second language (ESOL), or are native speakers.

The game is free to download, available now on Google Play, and launching on iOS 2/2/2016.
