UPSL Suspends Gorilla Elite FC from Arizona Conference

TORRANCE, Calif. - Jan. 30, 2016 - PRLog -- January 30, 2016 – Torrance, CA – The United Premier Soccer League today announced that Gorilla Elite FC of the UPSL Arizona Conference has been suspended from the league indefinitely for negative and derogatory remarks made on social media represented by Gorilla Elite FC and its managment. The UPSL maintains all comments that were made by Gorilla Elite FC’s were completely false and misleading and the league cannot and will not tolerate comments and actions of this derogatory nature. If any continued false press and or public statements and or comments continue to come forward from Gorillia regarding the UPSL, the league will immediately pursue all legal methods to pursue a lawsuit against Gorillia FC and its ownership group for previous and current defamation and seek punitive damages.

United Premier Soccer League President Leonel Lopez said. “We want to thank Gorilla Elite FC for its effort in participating in the newly created Arizona UPSL Conference. Unfortunately, due to negative public remarks that were made about the UPSL via social media a week or so back, both the league and the teams of the Arizona Conference felt it was best that Gorilla FC be removed from the current season and suspended indefinitely from the UPSL. We wish Gorilla FC the best in any future endeavors in the soccer market. On a more positive note, the UPSL will continue to grow and move in a forward direction as a league, with our current 2015/16 Winter Season in play and prepare for our upcoming Spring-Summer Season which kicks off in May 2016. We continue to grow the UPSL with new teams members and partners in differerent markets and look forward to a banner year overall as we push to continue to support the Pro Development side of soccer in the United States.

The (UPSL) United Premier Soccer League was formed in 2011. The UPSL currently maintains a team membership of 40 plus teams all between Southern California, Nevada, and Arizona with 50 plus teams targeted for 2016 Summer Season. With the addition of new clubs, the United Premier Soccer League is the Western US’s fastest growing Pro Development League. Each UPSL team is individually owned and operated, and is responsible for maintaining UPSL minimum standards.

In addition, all UPSL teams are all eligible to participate in the U.S. Open Cup Qualifying Rounds through their affiliation with the U.S. Soccer Federation (USSF) and the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA).
