Capes Sokol Announces Two Newly Elected Shareholders

ST. LOUIS - Jan. 29, 2016 - PRLog -- The law firm of Capes Sokol is pleased to announce that Justin K. Gelfand and Michael A. Kahn have been elected Shareholders of the firm.

Justin is a former federal prosecutor with extensive experience in criminal tax, financial fraud and identity theft cases. A seasoned trial attorney, he focuses his practice primarily on criminal defense, white collar defense, internal investigations, criminal tax and litigation.

Justin, a Washington University School of Law graduate, has received multiple awards for his legal work. In 2013, Justin received the Attorney General’s Award for Fraud Prevention, an award widely recognized as one of the Justice Department’s highest honors in the field of white collar and public corruption litigation. In addition, the U.S. Department of Justice Tax Division awarded him the Outstanding Attorney Award three consecutive years and he was most recently named a 2015 Up & Coming Lawyer by Missouri Lawyers Weekly.

Michael, a Harvard Law School graduate, concentrates his practice in copyright, trademark, First Amendment and media law, including libel and privacy rights. He is a widely recognized trial lawyer in the area of general commercial litigation, and regularly advises clients on a range of intellectual property matters.

In addition to his active practice, Mike is an adjunct professor at Washington University School of Law, where he teaches an upper level course on Censorship and Free Expression. He is also the award-winning author of numerous novels and short stories.
