January 20, 2016, Long Beach, CA:    Rainbow Promotions, LLC, producer of the famous Long Beach Jazz Festival, prepares for “A Special Evening of Music for Friends & Lovers” at the 2016 Valentine’s Concert, a gala event to be remembered.

The red carpet will be rolled out!   Roses will be presented!  The red, black and white décor will  accent at the elegant Terrace Theater at the Long Beach Performing Arts Center!  Romantic ambience, a unique dining experience and, of course, music offer a total seduction for those expecting a truly memorable Valentine’s Day.

Performing will be BWB; the combined talents or guitarist Norman Brown, saxophonist Kirk Whalum and trumpeter Rick Braun brought together by Matt Pierson of Warner Brothers Jazz. Pierson says, “As a guitarist, Norman is the George Benson and Wes Montgomery of his generation, Kirk is the most influential sax man of his generation and Rick, with his background in straight ahead jazz, brings an authentic, classic jazz trumpet vibe to the smooth jazz world.” Their highly rated debut album, Groovin’, came out in 2002, and BWB’s sophomore album, Human Nature, features instrumental jazz re-interpretations of songs by Michael Jackson.

Rick Braun (BWB) known for his debut album, Intimate Secrets, his Kisses in the Rain held the top slot for 11 weeks on Billboard’s Top 10 Contemporary Jazz chart. Braun’s singles also climbed to the #1 spot on the R&R NAC/Smooth Jazz charts.

Kirk Whalum’s (BWB) early hit albums include Cache, Joined at the Hip, For You, and the popular series, The Gospel According to Jazz. His sax artistry has been featured on Whitney Houston’s “I will Always Love You” and in films, “Boyz in the Hood” and “The Prince of Tides.” Kirk has received two Stellar Awards, a Grammy for It’s What I Do, eleven Grammy nominations, three Dove Award nominations and an NAACP Image Award nomination.

Norman Brown (BWB) released top hits Just Between Us, followed by the gold-certified After the Storm and Better Days Ahead. He received a Grammy for Just Chillin.  The Very Best of Norman Brown, hit the top of the charts and his album, Stay With Me included several hit singles: “Stay With Me,” “Let’s Take a Ride,” and “Pop’s Cool Groove.”

Kenny Lattimore, proclaimed “A Modern Soul Man” by the New York Times, released the single, “I Wanna Ride,” by Charlie Wilson. Under Columbia, his Kenny Lattimore album spawned two Top 20 hits: “Never Too Busy,” and “For You.”  Later Kenny released “From the Soul of a Man,” and two Top 10 duet albums with Chante Moore. Kenny has received the NAACP Image Award for Best New Artist and several Soul Train and Stellar award nominations.

Michael Lington, has wowed and surprised his fans with smooth jazz talent and improvisation from his self-titled breakthrough album in 1997 to his star-studded Pure in 2012.  His newest album, Soul Appeal, shows Michael as he has never been heard before-- blazing as a fresh 60s and 70s Memphis Soul Vibe.   ~~~
