“Love will certainly be in the air at our first flea market of 2016 on 14th February, Valentine’s Day,” said organiser Rosemary Hallett from Once Upon a Time Nostalgic Fairs, based in South Molton. “There will be a huge range of Valentine’s gifts for sale as well as a great selection of vintage and retro items, including household and garden products, toys, clothes, jewellery, furniture and crafts. And of course, some house clearance items too.”
Established sellers will be joined by a number of new stallholders from outside North Devon, including three Somerset businesses. “We’re looking forward to coming to South Molton, and meeting the other sellers and visitors,” said Jill Hunt from Pick and Mix Vintage based in Axbridge. “I love vintage colour and sparkle, and I’ll be bringing a range of my colourful costume jewellery and other decorative treasures, lots of little treats for lovers of vintage.” Joining Pick and Mix will be two businesses from nearby Cheddar - Stuff and Nonsense, specialists in Ladybird books and vintage collectables, and Pinny and Petticoat, who will be bringing some gorgeous mirrors, pieces of furniture and outdoor items.
“We try to have a good mix of sellers so there is always something new for our visitors,” added Rosemary. “We are thrilled that a large number of our established sellers return time and again, bringing different things with them each time. Many of them have loyal customers who make a point of visiting every flea market. We are grateful to both our local stallholders and our sellers from across the South West for their support, and hope that everyone has a really good day at the event.”
Stallholders at the Valentine’s Flea Market include The Green Barrow, Paul and Gail Harris, Shabilous, The Shed, Greenwell Collectables, Morag Collyer, Nicola Kennaugh, Margaret Squance, Java Gifts, Nostalgia, Pauline’s Bags, Russell and Susie Needham Textiles from Wellington, French Collectables from Bath and Presence of the Past from Bridgwater.
There will be fresh coffee available from the Market Café, and a range of delicious foods from The Pig and Olive, Jake’s Bakes, L J’s Pasties, Vanessa’s Cakes and Clarey’s Celandine Cake House.
The Flea Market is open from 10 am – 3 pm. Entry is free and parking in the nearby Cattle Market Car Park is free. For all enquiries, please contact Rosemary Hallett on 07989 619745.
Further flea markets are due to be held in South Molton Country Pannier Market on 3rd April, 5th June, 11th September and 13th November 2016.
