The Award-Winning 2016 Honda Civic Is Available to Metro Milwaukee DriversThe 2016 Honda Civic has been recognized as the North American Car of the Year by a panel of more than 50 international auto critics.
Honda has had 11 vehicles named as finalists in the North American Car of the Year awards in the past 22 years, more than any brand outside of the Detroit “Big 3.” Jeff Conrad, the Honda Division Senior Vice President, responded to the good news, saying, "Civic is a cornerstone of the Honda lineup, and we're delighted that the automotive press has recognized the new levels of styling, performance, advanced technology, safety and value that characterize the new Civic." “The all-new Civic was developed and is built in North America, making this North American Car of the Year win even sweeter,” Conrad added. Unlike most auto awards, the North American Car of the Year Award is given by a panel of 53 international auto critics and journalists rather than by a single organization, the idea being that this diverse panel of experts will be the best at providing potential drivers with a true “best” car and “best” truck. The award is given at the start of each North American International Auto Show, held every January in Detroit. The Civic didn't just win a popularity contest, either; the critics judge the vehicles based on design, innovation, handling, safety performance, value, and driver satisfaction. In short, the winners truly earn their awards. The 2016 Honda Civic is the start of the 10th generation of the small car in the United States, and Honda has gone in a bold new direction with two new engines (including an available turbocharged model) and five different trim levels—and that's just for the sedan.
