NAPLES, Fla. - Jan. 26, 2016 - PRLog -- The Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball Team™ (WWAST) will take on the North Collier  Fire-Rescue Department  and Collier County Senior Softball League  in a double-header February 13, 2016 at the North Collier Regional Park, 15000 Livingston Road in Naples, Florida 34119. The opening ceremony will begin at 5:00 p.m. with a Fire-Rescue Honor Guard, fire trucks, and the introduction of dignitaries. Admission is free. Event co-chairs are: Fred Carcietta and Rick Burunetti.

The Naples High School Girls Softball Team will be collecting donations at the gate to benefit the Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball Team, a 501(c)(3) public charity whose mission is to inspire and educate others while enhancing the health and welfare of wounded warrior amputees.

WWAST represents some of our nation’s bravest and most determined heroes, soldiers and veterans who have sustained severe injuries resulting in amputation. Through extensive rehabilitation, they have become competitive athletes again, playing exhibition softball games all across the country to encourage and inspire other amputees or those facing difficult life challenges with their special brand of courage and determination.
