CHESTERFIELD, Va. - Jan. 26, 2016 - PRLog -- Richmond/Central Virginia, 1/26/16 - - National Public Radio book editor Petra Mayer, Central Virginia’s New York Times bestselling authors Cathy Maxwell and Mary Burton, The Romance Dish’s P.J. Ausdenmore and Fountain Bookstore’s Kelly Justice share opinion and fact about what makes and keeps romance novels at the forefront of popular fiction during “Why We Love Romance Novels: An Evening of Celebration” at LaPrade Library, Tuesday, February 19th. From reader expectation, the role of “sub-genres” in keeping the genre vibrant and choices of format to embracing the traditions of romance novels and changes in culture and readers’ lives, panelists will examine what brings the romance buyers and the books into stores regardless of the economy and ever-expanding entertainment choices.

The program runs from 7 – 8:30 p.m. at LaPrade Library, 9000 Hull Street, North Chesterfield and includes light refreshments. The panel discussion will be followed by a book signing. ABOUT THE PANELISTS

PJ Ausdenmore
is a blogger, dog lover, romance reader, baker, candy maker, photographer and rabid football fan. A lover of romance fiction since the age of thirteen, PJ has been reviewing and sharing news of the genre for many years. She and two friends established The Romance Dish (www.theromancedish.com) in 2009.

Mary Burton, the New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of twenty-seven romantic suspense novels and five novellas is known for her research into law enforcement procedure and the use of forensic science to identify objects and the trace evidence they leave.  Her recent novels, all featuring the Morgan family, are Vulnerable, I’ll Never Let You Go (http://www.maryburton.com/ill-never-let-you-go/), Be Afraid (http://www.maryburton.com/be-afraid/) and, Cover Your Eyes.

Petra Mayer is an editor at NPR Books, focusing on genre fiction.  She is also heard on air on occasional episodes of Pop Culture Happy Hour. Previously she was an associate producer and director for All Things Considered.

Cathy Maxwell is the New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of thirty historical romance novels and five novellas. She is known for her humor, her historical research and her love of children, horses, dogs and cats.  Her latest novels are part of her popular Marrying the Duke series, including the recently published The Match of the Century and the upcoming The Fairest of Them All and A Date at the Altar.
