ROCHESTER, N.Y. - Jan. 26, 2016 - PRLog -- In November, the Rochester Academy of Music & Arts organized and hosted its second-annual food drive for Foodlink-- a certified nonprofit organization committed to fighting hunger in Rochester. The Academy raised 1,121 lbs. of food over a one-month period, nearly doubling last year’s total.

To date, the Academy has raised a total of 1,800 lbs. of food for those in need.

Giving Thanks & Giving Help

Academy assistant director Brigid Harrigan worked closely with Foodlink to coordinate this year’s food drive. According to Harrigan, “Celebrating family is very important to us at the Academy, as hundreds of families come through our doors each week.” Harrigan continues, “An important part of being a family-friendly organization is seizing opportunities to help support families who are in a time of need.”

Foodlink estimates that the donation will provide over 900 healthy meals for local families.
