The MonOrchid & Nuestra Gente Present "The real Nitty Gritty"

PHOENIX - Jan. 27, 2016 - PRLog -- Shade Projects is proud to present The real Nitty Gritty, a group exhibition in Shade Gallery featuring a dynamic mix of local and national artists including El Mac, Mando Rascon, Pablo Luna, Lalo Cota, 21 Rak and Thomas Breeze Marcus, just to name a few. This exhibition originated in Phoenix back in 1997 with Pablo Luna spearheading the show and bringing together a talented and diverse group of graffiti artists that were held throughout the years and we are excited to welcome this group to the monOrchid and bring back The real Nitty Gritty.

These are some of the most talented graffiti artists in the nation coming together for this show, which will highlight their diverse styles, artistic revolution and eclectic subject matter representative of each artist. Shade Projects Curator Nicole Royse says, “This group of artists has grown and changed throughout the years since the initial real Nitty Gritty, expanding and growing with their art and this exhibition promises to be a phenomenal exhibition giving visitors an opportunity to enjoy an incredible collection of artwork and so many great artists packed into one exhibition.

Please join us for the VIP Artist Reception of The real Nitty Gritty on Thursday, March 3rd from 6-10pm with many of the artists in attendance, live music, vendors and much more! Also please join us for promises to be an amazing First Friday on March 4th from 6-10pm with incredible art, live music, and vendors. The Closing Reception will be held on Thursday, March 17th from 6-10pm. Art Detour 28 will be held the weekend of March 19 & 20 from 11-4pm. The real Nitty Gritty will be on display in Shade Gallery at the monOrchid from March 3rd through March 27th, 2016.

The monOrchid is located at 214 E. Roosevelt Street in the heart of Phoenix's downtown Roosevelt Row Arts District. The building is open daily and the exhibition may be viewed during business hours.
