Founding and Growing a New Jersey Family Business
In 1971, following the bankruptcy of his long-time employer, George Grillo founded Cryofab with Augustine DiGennaro and Peter Lepore. George’s son Vincent joined the company in 1972 and his brother Greg became the company’s first engineer a few years later. George’s grandson, Vincent Jr., recently joined the firm as a sales engineer to continue the legacy.

Cryofab continues to grow its business in New Jersey: A cryogenic hose product line was added in 2014 and in 2015 Cryofab acquired California-based Cryocomp, a cryogenic accessories manufacturer. Cryocomp’s manufacturing operations were relocated to Kenilworth.

Commitment to the Local Economy and Community
Cryofab has had a multigenerational impact on the community as an employer and good corporate citizen. A local job creator, Cryofab employs over 60 people in its home town of Kenilworth. Vincent Grillo gives demonstrations of cryogenic applications at area schools to promote interest in science and educate youth on future possibilities. Cryofab delivered industrial cylinders of liquid oxygen to rescue workers at the World Trade Towers shortly after 9/11.
