Montreal Startup revolutionizes the way people relocate and find housing

MONTREAL - Jan. 25, 2016 - PRLog -- Navut (www.navut.com), a Montreal-based start-up that provides a unique online platform for relocation and real estate resources, has announced today that they have launched their solution for Vancouver, adding to their existing comprehensive coverage of other major metropolitan areas in Canada: Toronto (http://blog.navut.com/category/canada/toronto/), Montreal (http://blog.navut.com/category/canada/montreal/), Ottawa (http://blog.navut.com/category/canada/ottawa/), Calgary (http://blog.navut.com/category/canada/calgary/), Edmonton (http://blog.navut.com/category/canada/edmonton/), Winnipeg (http://blog.navut.com/category/canada/winnipeg/), Halifax (http://blog.navut.com/category/canada/halifax/), Red Deer (http://blog.navut.com/category/canada/red-deer/), and Guelph (http://blog.navut.com/category/canada/guelph/).

First launched in Montreal in late 2012, Navut is a new online platform that is changing the way people approach one of the most stressful and complicated events in their lives: moving to a new city.

With a unique algorithm that matches a person’s criteria to certain neighborhoods, along with a user interface that hides all of the complexity behind the scenes, Navut is reinventing real estate services by making people fall in love with their neighborhood first.

While other relocation services and real estate websites can provide a list of available accommodations, Navut’s value is unique in that a member can use their proprietary Neighbourhood Finder (http://navut.com/finder#/metro) to create a specific profile, allowing them not only to explore areas based on their budgets, but also filter a list of housing options that fit their lifestyle, preferred services and amenities, transportation requirements, and even match a desired demographic slice, such as level of education and occupation.

The Neighbourhood Finder uses an algorithm that weighs residents’ neighbourhood reviews against quantitative data such as government- and city-compiled statistics, and crime rates from local police. Content creation fleshes out the area’s profile.

The challenge is identifying the best neighbourhood and home for your family, and working with a realtor who best suits your needs, speaks your language, has experience in this neighbourhood.

The ability to evaluate the needs of prospective buyers and renters ahead of tie makes Navut appealing to real-estate brokers, who typically spend $2,000 or more a month on listings and other forms of advertising.

The idea percolated for a few years, and then he began working on the concept of Navut, an online neighbourhood-matching service meant to give newcomers to Montreal a comprehensive look at their future surroundings.

“Looking at Google Maps and reading blog articles doesn’t give you the answers you need”, said Mauro Repacci, co-founder of Navut. “Our concept from the start of this venture has been centered around Hyperlocalization, and providing those who are faced with the myriad challenges of relocating to a new city can finely target their preferred lifestyle prior to purchasing or renting a new home”.

Since registered users are able to join without being solicited, their information can only be shared if they choose to connect with a real estate professional, ensuring a stress-free experience and the ability to select an agent based on their neighborhood specialization.

A vision for expansion

The company is also gathering data on 50 U.S. cities and plan to launch once Navut’s unique real estate brokerage model has been more established in Canada.

The Navut team is also working on several new features for the Neighborhood Finder, including a marketplace where service providers and local businesses can vie for new residents’ business by offering competitive deals, and a comparative budget tool to help users determine whether, for instance, that job offer in Calgary is really as great as it seems after adjustments for the cost of living and other expense-related criteria are considered.
