Hodges University Center for Nonprofit Excellence Announces February Workshops

NAPLES, Fla. - Jan. 22, 2016 - PRLog -- The Hodges University Center for Nonprofit Excellence (CNE) is hosting three workshops in February. The registration fee is $35 per workshop. CNE participants who attend four workshops in governance, operations or management can earn a noncredit certificate in the topic area.

The “Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR): Implications, trends and challenges for the nonprofit sector” workshop will take place from 9:30-11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 2. Debra Faulk, vice president of community affairs with Wells Fargo, will highlight practical ways for nonprofit leaders to assess the opportunities of CSR. She will show how nonprofit organizations can collaborate with for-profit companies to develop community solutions that draw on the complementary capabilities of both to address major challenges that affect each partner. The workshop will be held in the Kleist Community Room, Building H on the Fort Myers campus – 4501 Colonial Boulevard, Fort Myers, FL 33966.

The “Develop a Talent Strategy to Recruit and Retain” workshop, the first of a series of three Talent Strategy workshops, will be held from 9:30-11:30 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 11. Attendees will learn how to recruit and retain employees with the help of Debbie Mathews Finch from the Mathews Finch Consulting Group. Through a proprietary process called The Talent Strategy Building Process (TSBP), organizations can develop and link their unique talent strategy to their strategic plan, which in turn will drive their mission. The result is a robust talent strategy that will be aligned with and drive their strategic plan, making it easier to recruit and retain employees. The workshop will be held in the Stock Building White Community Room on the Naples campus – 2647 Professional Way, Naples, FL 34119.

The “Getting Your New Nonprofit Up and Running – Beyond the 501(c)(3)” workshop will take place from 9:30-11:30 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 25. Presenting will be Susan Suarez, CFRE, with Suarez and Associates. During the workshop, attendees will learn how to understand what lies ahead, growth strategies and how to plan for a successful future after receiving 501(c)(3) approval from the IRS. Topics discussed will include legal requirements and planning for the future, which consists of board, strategy, programs, fundraising and more. The session also includes use of an assessment tool used to determine current strengths and areas for development. The workshop will be held in the Stock Building White Community Room on the Naples campus – 2647 Professional Way, Naples FL 34119.
