Charlotte Meck. Police Department Continues Building Relationships with Barbershop and Community!

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Jan. 21, 2016 - PRLog -- CHARLOTTE – (10/22/15)As an extension of the relationships that were built during the "Cops & Barbers" movement, Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department, Da Lucky Spot Barbershop and area small business partners will giveaway turkeys to the community. In the spirit of Thanksgiving, on 11/24 from 6pm to 8pm at Da Lucky Spot Barbershop, located at 3720 N. Tryon St. #102 Charlotte N.C. (beside Chicken Box), CMPD-North Tryon Division and Da Lucky Spot Barbershop will partner to give back to the community in a big way, ensuring that families have Thanksgiving dinner.

Da Lucky Spot Barbershop is in its 5th year of the Turkey giveaway event and has given out over 1,000 turkeys in the community. This year, CMPD will play an integral part in the event by giving away turkeys in the community and will also take the opportunity a step further by hand delivering turkeys to those that cannot physically attend the giveback event. In the past, area small businesses have donated turkeys to the cause by either purchasing $10 vouchers or bringing in uncooked turkeys and food items on the day of the event.

In 2014, through the gracious support of Wal-mart N. Tryon, Radio One stations 105.3 and Praise 100.9, Wellsfargo, The Blessing House Inc. and many small businesses, we were able to support over 200 neighbors and was able to give back 25 food boxes and turkeys to veterans registered in the Charlotte Bridge Home Non-Profit organization. In 2015, we would like to exceed those numbers and give more back to those in our backyard.
