NewSchool of Architecture & Design has been certified as a "Military & Veteran Supportive Campus"

SAN DIEGO - Jan. 20, 2016 - PRLog -- NewSchool of Architecture & Design is the “First Regionally Accredited School in the State of California” to go through this voluntary assessment and certification.

The Accrediting Council for Military & Veterans Education and Training (ACMVET) today announced that NewSchool of Architecture & Design (http://www.newschoolarch.edu/) has been named the “First Regionally Accredited School in the State of California” to be certified and recognized as “Military & Veteran Supportive Campus” by ACMVET.

The accrediting/certifying commissioners certified NewSchool of Architecture & Design (http://www.newschoolarch.edu/) based on its solid academic curricula, military and veteran educational benefits, services, support (http://newschoolarch.edu/admissions/financial-aid/veterans-financial-aid/), community networking and outreach provided by its San Diego, California campus.

“At NewSchool of Architecture & Design, we continually strive to enhance our industry-tailored educational offerings and benefits for veterans and active duty military,” said Marvin J. Malecha, NewSchool President and Chief Academic Officer. “This past fall we debuted a new Veterans’ Resource Center, which gives our students receiving military benefits access to information about services available in our local community, and also enables them to meet and interact with one another in a supportive space on campus. We continue to participate in the Yellow Ribbon GI Education Enhancement Program and are proud to be designated as a Military-Friendly School and receive the Military & Veteran Supportive Campus recognition from ACMVET (http://acmvet.org/). We are committed to ensuring that those who have served — and continue to serve our country — have access to quality education during and following their service.”

To receive certification as a “Military & Veteran Supportive Campus” educational institutions must undergo a voluntary vetting process and also meet a rigorous set of standards required by ACMVET (http://acmvet.org/). This includes certain training for staff/faculty, implementation of additional resources at the local campus, a campus site visit, as well as additional requirements prior to a school being considered and/or recommended for certification by ACMVET.

Each school must meet and maintain the requirements set forth by the ACMVET (http://acmvet.org/) certification committee in order to maintain their annual certification.

ACMVET Commission on Higher Education is a voluntary, non-governmental, membership organization that is dedicated to quality assurance and improvement through certification via institution evaluation.
