SHREWSBURY, N.J. - Jan. 17, 2016 - PRLog -- SHREWSBURY, N.J.s – At Greekamolé, food is not food. It’s an experience.

“At our restaurant, the customer is really the chef,” said Dimitrios “Jim” Elenis, owner of Greekamolé Mediterranean Fusion restaurant (1130 Broad St., Shrewsbury). “Each customer is going to create their own special meal according to their taste. It’s part of the adventure that is Greekamolé.

“This is fast, casual, healthy food. It’s a medley of tastes and textures from the Mediterranean and Middle East with a dash of South American spices.”

You begin your journey with warm pita bread. It can be used on the side or as a holder for what follows.

First, are the side dishes. Select from Chickpea and Roasted Vegetable Salad, Super Food Salad (kale, carrots, onions, nuts, seeds, dried fruits and quinoa), a very special Baba Ghanoush (roasted eggplant and chunky butternut squash), the “Full Greek” (a blend of feta, cucumber, tomato and onion), Picante Avocado (avocado, tomato, jalapeno and white beans), Minted Israeli Salad with Couscous (cucumber, tomato, lemon and fresh mint), Spicy Moroccan Slaw, Tabbouleh with Quinoa and Turkish Salad with Sweet Pepper and Tomatoes.

Then, add the protein. Select from chicken – prepared different ways on different days, baked chickpea quinoa falafel, chicken salad (with dried cranberries, walnuts, celery and Greek yogurt), chicken fajita, pulled beef short ribs and lemon-dill salmon salad.

Finally, add the toppings. Select from Tzatziki (cucumber and yogurt sauce), Greekamolé (the restaurant’s signature avocado-yogurt guacamole), Tahini (sesame sauce), Sriracha Tahini (spicy sesame sauce), Cilantro-Lime Tahini (tangy lime sesame sauce), Chipotle Tahni (smoky spicy sesame sauce), Kale Chimichurri (a tangy Argentinian salsa), Feta Cucumber Vinaigrette and Balsamic Vinaigrette.

The result: Each meal is different because you designed it yourself.

“This isn’t just food, it’s fun,” Elenis said. “People are looking for healthy, and this is it. We’ve got grains and greens of all varieties, accented with a variety of spices. With so many vegetables, vegetarians will love this place.”

And the 60-seat restaurant is already winning raves from customers.

“I was happy for the bright, fresh flavors,” said a five star review on “Satisfyingly filling with large portions. Lots of vegetables and I love it.”

Added another five star review: “Very good food. Home style Greek and Mediterranean fusion. If you want Greek food, this place is great!!! Would definitely eat (here) again!!!”

And a third five star Yelp review added: “Great food, great price. Food was really tasty and fresh.”

Greekamolé is a great example of attention to detail. There’s a soda fountain. But there’s no Coke or Pepsi. Instead, there is Jones cane sugar soda. No high fructose corn syrup used here. No chemical-enhanced sugar water either. The teas are Honest Tea – a delicious blend of only the essential ingredients.

“We care about what we put in our food and what our customers put in their bodies,” Elenis said. “It should be healthy and tasty. It should also be something different.”

The restaurant opens every day at 11 for lunch and dinner. It usually closes at 9 p.m., except on Sunday when it closes at 8:30 p.m.
