Follow on Google News | Sisters Bring Big Band Sound to Milwaukee Convent Feb. 13School Sisters of St. Francis Get Into the Swing on Valentine Weekend
The band will play a special Valentine weekend program titled “Favorites from the Big Band Era” at a concert sponsored by the School Sisters of St. Francis on Saturday, February 13, at 7 p.m. The performance will be presented in St. Joseph Hall at the sisters’ Milwaukee convent, St. Joseph Center, 1501 S. Layton Blvd., Milwaukee (corner of Greenfield Avenue and 27th Street). These renowned Wisconsin musicians have performed at countless corporate events and parish festivals, the Wisconsin State Fair, Summerfest, two Wisconsin governors’ inaugural balls, as well as for President Ronald Reagan’s visit to Milwaukee in 1988. The band was featured on the bandwagon of Milwaukee’s Great Circus Parade for 21 years. They will be appearing at the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts later this month. The February 13 concert at St. Joseph Center will have limited seating, and patrons are strongly encouraged to order their $15 tickets in advance.
