HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. - Jan. 15, 2016 - PRLog -- EAC Network’s Senior Respite program is the proud recipient of a $7,000 grant from the NY Community Bank Foundation to expand the agency’s in-home caregiver services to Long Beach.  According to the “Community Health Assessment” released by the Nassau County Department of Health, “Long Beach has pockets of severely underserved residents with low social and economic status, a lack of access to care, and suffer significantly from disease morbidity and mortality.”

“We are so grateful to NY Community Bank Foundation for their generosity,” said Carol O’Neill, Senior Director of Senior & Nutrition Services at EAC Network, “and we are excited to be able to provide case management, in-home assessments, respite for family caregivers, and access to mental health services for the seniors in Long Beach still recovering from Super Storm Sandy.”

Individuals interested in becoming a part-time caregiver in Long Beach or elsewhere in Nassau County can call 516-539-0150 x218.
