The book transports the reader to a future world, set in the treacherous locale of the North Caucasus region of Russia, where Ciarán, together with a group of fellow retired mercenaries’ The society is reshaped my self-appointed rulers calling themselves governors, also called Oligarchs. With a wonder drug called Mammy being the most precious necessity for survival, the characters are tied together when Ciarán and comrades meet the comely Ani Ohanyan; she is resilient, naive, a bit impractical and a Mammy smuggler. Fiercely independent, Ani is determined to get a load of Mammy to an area in need regardless of the possible imminent dangers. With Ani and Mammy in tow, Ciarán and company embark on the journey of a lifetime finding perilous adventure, truth, love and themselves, in the midst of their dangerous, but revelatory journey. When asked about how the book came to being,”I am a huge fan of the movie Stalker by Andrei Tarkovsky,” stated Gaiserich. “There was a particular scene, about halfway through the movie, where the camera pans over some relics as chilling duduk music plays and a child’s voice recites a verse from the Book of Revelation,” said Gaiserich. “That was the atmosphere I was trying to convey when I wrote the beginning of The Prelapsarians.” His 600 plus page novel has achieved his goals. “It was a phenomenal read that was both thoughtful and striking in scope and artfully presented humanity at its worst and best. Also, I found author Gaiserich to be a skilled storyteller whose evocative prowess as a writer relayed a richly atmospheric story that was easy to enjoy and become ensnared in,” quoted Pacific Book Review.
