DELRAY BEACH, Fla. - Jan. 8, 2016 - PRLog -- Jay Goldberg is the author of the work readiness series: Workplace Basics, Workplace Skills, People Skills and Customer Service.  This eight book, four module series is his original work in the work readiness field.  Previously, Mr. Goldberg developed and implemented a work readiness training program for a Florida Workforce Development client that was called the best work readiness certification program in the United States by a member of the National Skills Standard Board.

After discussing the Florida ESOL work readiness requirements as well as the practical needs of ESOL participants with the ESOL Program Coordinator at Jupiter Community High School, Mr. Goldberg decided to add ESOL exercises and worksheets to his existing work readiness books.

The first two books in the series, Workplace Basics: Instructor Book (ISBN – 9781523204786) and workplace Basics: Student Book (ISBN – 9781523206582) are now available at online booksellers, including Amazon.  The three other books will be available later in 2016.

The ESOL exercises and worksheets cover topics such as reading, writing, grammar and speaking.  These topics are not covered in the book.  It is assumed that ESOL venues have resources to cover those topics that those topics have been covered already when participants enroll in the ESOL work readiness courses.

Therefore, the ESOL exercises and worksheets in this book series are used to apply those previously taught and learned skills to workplace materials and situations; and to further help the participants understand the work readiness topics taught in Workplace Basics.

The work readiness topics, worksheets (no answers in book) and exercises (answers in back of the book) in this edition of the book are exactly the same as in the non-ESOL version of the book. Employers do not have different workplace expectations or requirements for employees enrolled in (or who graduated from) ESOL programs. In addition, ESOL students want and deserve the same opportunities as anyone else to excel and grow at work. To ensure this, the work readiness portion in any ESOL program needs to be exactly the same as a work readiness program for non-ESOL participants.

Since the work readiness materials are the same as the ones for non-ESOL participants; these materials are targeting high-middle tier to upper tier ESOL students.
