Celebrate ‘20 Years of the SLK’ at Mercedes-Benz World – Sunday June 26 2016
Mercedes-Benz World – the brand’s and heritage centre located at the old Brooklands race track in Surrey – will be making its facilities available to the Mercedes-Benz Club for a celebration of the ‘20 years of the SLK’ on Sunday June 26.
The SLK was the generation of smaller sports cars launched by Mercedes-Benz in 1996. Examples of all models will be present and there will be track demonstrations, parade laps, a ‘Show & Shine’ competition plus presentations and advice from the Club's Technical Team.
All Mercedes-Benz enthusiasts, whichever model they drive, will be welcome but to take part in the event with your SLK rather than just watch it, you need to join the Mercedes-Benz Club and register in advance – via www.mercedes-
Over 100 SLKs have attended both of the model's 'Day' in 2014 & 2015 and with the planned celebration of the model’s 20th Anniversary Year, even more are expected this year. Around the displayed SLKs, all the usual attractions of Mercedes-Benz World will be available, including displays of historic models, the full current range, the Boutique offering personal accessories and a choice of catering facilities.
If you tire of all things Mercedes-Benz, you can also visit the adjoining Brooklands Museum to see the history of British motor racing and aviation – from the earliest races and flights to F1 and Concorde.
