By: Lake Sumter Television Benjamin Mack-Jackson’ The Lake County Virtual School student has done the work on his own time and purchased his own video equipment. The teen plans to interview as many WWII veterans as possible and then will ultimately interview veterans’ family members who can share their loved ones’ history. Leesburg-based marketing and video production agency Red Apples Media has partnered with Mack-Jackson to produce at least three 30-minute video programs using interviews the teen recorded as part of the WWII Veterans History Project. The original video interviews are posted at www.WW2VeteransHistoryProject.com The teen worked with an award-winning, veteran producer and video editor at Red Apples Media to transform his work into a documentary series suitable for broadcast distribution. Red Apples Media also provided the student with a production equipment budget to help enhance the quality of his interviews. “I find it amazing that I only started this project in the summer and Red Apples Media contacted me so quickly. I am thankful that my project will reach more viewers and more veterans,” said Mack-Jackson who launched the WWII Veterans History Project after noticing a lack of details and personal history of WWII veterans in his school textbook. “I will be able to use what Red Apples Media taught me about production for future interviews.” Parady Financial Group of The Villages partially underwrote the production costs associated with the documentary project. “Ben’s passion to preserve the legacy of arguably the greatest generation is awe-inspiring,” “It has been exciting to share our professional broadcast expertise. At the same time, Ben has inspired us with his initiative and determination to share the testimony of a segment of our population that is frankly dying out,” said Marc Robertz-Schwartz, President and Executive Producer at Red Apples Media which also operates LSTV on behalf of Lake Sumter State College. The WWII Veterans History Project will air on LSTV (Comcast Channel 13, Brighthouse Channel 498 and Florida Cable 4) throughout January at the following times: Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays at 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.; Tuesdays and Thursdays at 8 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., Saturdays at 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. The program can also be watched on Lake Sumter TV’s YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/ About LSTV The result of a public-private partnership involving Hometown Heath TV, LLC, Lake Sumter State College and the Lake County Office of Economic Development and Tourism, LSTV produces a growing library of multi-award winning, professionally- End
