365 Short Daily Videos in 2016 Will Explain the History of the Universe

This broad view of history, starting with the Big Bang and ending today, has recently become popular under the name of “Big History”, a term coined by Australian historian David Christian who gained the support of American billionaire Bill Gates.

But Big History has gained little traction in UK schools, which are constrained by the national curriculum. So Seagrave is targeting his videos directly at the curious citizen, of any age, who wants to gain an overview of our place in the universe.

“This story is part of our heritage, and there are many benefits in knowing about where we came from,” Seagrave insists. “It gives meaning to the study of science, and reveals how the facts of science relate to our everyday lives. It introduces the key concepts from many branches of science and reveals the links between them. It also reveals trends in history which enable us to make some educated guesses about what will happen in the future.”

In addition to hotu365, Seagrave is working on Time Crystal, perhaps the first ever attempt to cover the whole history of the universe as a work of fiction. The characters go back in time to the Big Bang and beyond, learning about how planets and stars and atoms and molecules work by actually interacting with them and solving problems in order to rescue the crystals which they need to re-start time and save the universe.
