Washington DC based Social Media Company Covers Miss Universe

ANNAPOLIS, Md. - Dec. 24, 2015 - PRLog -- Washington DC (December 24, 2015) - Covering the event was Paige Clark, Founder of PageantLIVE, PS Privette, CEO of PageantLIVE, Lisa Opie, Host of PageantLIVE, cofounder of Lady Code and Vizcaya Swimwear and Host Stayc Sharrow Simpson, Owner of Gymagination. Miami and Srikanth Namburi, of DC based Snowdrop Photography.

Srikanth was in the press media area at Axis Theater where Miss Universe was being held.  Below are his recollections of what happened when during the crowning:

I was curious, star struck, confused, focused, happy and sorry at various point in time. There was quite a sense of confusion in the media room where the plan was initially to have all the photographers in a separate room from the press conference videographers, where the new Miss Universe would come in take a few pictures at that red carpet and then address the press conference.

Just when all the photographers have been lined up and focused to capture the beauty and grace of our new Miss Universe, we hear a couple of people running toward the press conference room. It was only then, the remaining was told that there was a change in the plan and Steve Harvey will first do a press conference.

Mark Shapiro, the Chief Content Officer of IMG also provided clarification that this was done solely based on Steve’s personal commitment to address this with the press.

Miami based Host Stayc Sharrow Simpson who was inside of the theater recounts her observations of the events:

Honestly I heard Colombia and stood up to run up to the media room so I could check on Surdas and say goodbye to the Miss Universe Organization Staff and the other media friends. I had no idea what had happened until I was asked to be interviewed what happened so I walked over the MUO staff and asked if it was true. They said yes. But everyone is running around because we were just told by hotel staff that there was a mass shooting outside the hotel

The Philippines station interviewed me and 2 or 3 others ran roll of her interview.

When I got downstairs people were screaming about Colombia being robbed people were fighting inside the lobby. The valet said I couldn’t have my car because the roads were all shut down and for my safety to take a seat near an exit.

I watched all the performers come out of the theater back door, the all the contestants. I tried to interview Colombia she said no comment. I saw Paula Shugart and Olivia Culpo. They didn't respond we I asked for a quick interview They had security with all of them limos were packed up and trying get the performers out and the girls to their rooms.
