Dec. 23, 2015 - PRLog -- Up South Capital Partners - leading another social- technological project in Africa

The last few years have witnessed Internet becoming a basic household commodity.

Having access to the Internet allows you to discover answers to any question, and to

be informed at any given moment on diverse subjects, be it the news, the weather,

fashion, sports, economics, etc. You can search for experts in any profession, plan

your trips, organize social gatherings, surf social networks, watch movies, look at

pictures taken in far-away places, and organize your entire life sitting in front of the

computer screen.

Educators from various countries have foreseen the Internet's educational potential,

and have integrated it as an educational tool in various educational programs.

Integrating Internet in education aims at broadening the students' horizons, teaching

them the proper use of the multitude of databases, and discerning between significant

and insignificant information. From a personal perspective, students also learn ethical

conduct and important values such as respecting individuals and their privacy.

Various education establishments have included in their curricula computer lessons,

in which they teach the students safe and appropriate Internet surfing and how to be

aware of the Web's dangers. Furthermore, today we see a wide range of after-school

activities centered around the Internet, such as classes teaching children how to build

websites, a field in which many people work.

In California, Internet is an essential part of the education system. The students are

given assignments that require searching the Internet and conducting in-depth

research on diverse subjects. The students show their products and report their

findings in a class presentation. Another aspect of Internet integrated in education is a

special program, monitored and supervised by the ministry of education that allows

California students to contact other students world-wide via the Internet, e.g. Skype,

and thus to learn about places they have never visited.

On the other hand, there are many areas in the world, such as Africa that lack basic

access to the Internet.

Over a billion people live in Africa, distributed between 61 territories and islands, 128

million of whom are children. Approximately 17 million children have never gone to

school. Even in those schools that are connected to the Internet, the access is limited,

which makes it impossible to integrate Internet content in their curricula.

Being given the opportunity to integrate such materials in the curricula may attract

more children to school, and this in turn may diminish the educational gap between

students with limited access to the Internet and students with continuous access.

The investment company Up South Capital Partners is currently investing in a new

project by a group of young hi-tech individuals, involved in creating educational

programs encouraging youth to acquire hi-tech know how. This project offers

deploying Wi-Fi network infrastructure in rural and agricultural areas, and enables free

Internet access using an innovative application connected to the infrastructure.

"Up South Capital Partners is a zealous believer in promoting technology through

education, and once we learned about this project, we joined in without hesitation",

stated Mr. Borg, one of the company's founders, "we were all in agreement that

investing in this project is a wise decision, since its goal is highly commendable."

The project's goal is to enable people in these areas, especially students, continuous

access to the many learning opportunities Internet offers.

Up South Capital Partners Co. is known for its ability to recognize promising projects

and invest in them, especially with regard to improving resources. Another project it

invests in, for example, is developing a smart agricultural alert system, currently at the

pilot phase in Egypt.

Up South Capital Partners said that this application will be free of charge.

"Up South Capital Partners' goal is to make Internet accessible to everyone, regardless

of that person's location or occupation." said Mr. Borg.

Currently, the application is being developed, and soon the company will start the

pilot phase in various African schools.

The project's worth is no less than 30 million dollars.

In summary, this project will help close the educational gaps in Africa.
