Financial Planner Celebrates 20th anniversary with Random Acts of Kindness

CHICAGO - Dec. 21, 2015 - PRLog -- Chicago, IL – Chicago based Financial Planner Terrence Herr, founder of Herr Capital Management, LLC celebrated 20 years in the wealth management business by sharing the challenge for clients perform random acts of kindness.  The celebration culminated this November with the publishing of a book which shares the stories of the act performed to improve the world around us.

The campaign started in 2014 with a Thanksgiving letter which included random dollar amounts from $5 to $100 asking clients to use the gift in a way that gives back to the community.  “As we approached our 20^th anniversary, I wanted to do something that reflected the values of our firm.” said Terry Herr, Certified Financial Planner™ and founder of Herr Capital Management.   Clients were asked to use the money to perform a Random Act of Kindness and then to report back what they did. “I never could have imagined the reach we would have.” The campaign help the homeless throughout the United States and even reached a food kitchen and shelter in Ireland.

“We are low key and about serving others so instead of throwing a party, I thought it would be better to use the budget to help the community” said Herr.  Support for charities will continue into 2016. Along with the book, Herr Capital Management, LLC asked clients to nominate charities they support. Each quarter Herr Capital Management will highlight a charity or charities in our communications in an effort to support those organizations that work to improve our communities and help those in need.
