Follow on Google News | Certificate Distribution to Sterlite’s Tamira Muthukkal BeneficiariesBy: Vedanta Limited At the end of the training course today (19.12.2015) Livelihood is one of the focus areas of Sterlite Copper’s CSR to enhance the employability of the youth since 2008 as “Coastal Livelihood Project” (CLP) in partnership with NGOs and vocational training institutes. Earlier 1200 have been trained in the disciplines like Computer Training, Beautician, Nursing Assistant, Cell Phone Mechanic, Embroidery, Tailoring and Shipping Management. The success of the programme is evident by the employment provided to 864 young students. As part of our continue care to the community CLP has metamorphosed as “Tamira Muthukkal“ with the objective to mobilize, motivate and train unemployed, unskilled youth and facilitate suitable employment linkages within or outside the district. Since 2014, Sterlite Copper in association with IL&FS Institute of Skills is conducting three vocational training courses such as Electrician, Data Entry Operation cum Tally and Sewing Machine Operation. So far 298 youth have completed their training in 9 batches and 60% of them are employed. Currently, 50 young beneficiaries were trained under the two months vocational training courses, out of which 25 students got employment through campus placement drive. End
