By: Outlaws Publishing This partnership was announced by J.C. Hulsey and Stephen Burckhardt. “I am really looking forward to working with J.C. and Outlaws Publishing,” Hulsey said, "I'm so glad to be able to add a talent such as Stephen to our growing stable of Outlaws authors and am looking forward to a long and prosperous relationship. I know the readers are going to love his books." ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Stephen Burckhardt was born and raised in and around Wichita, Kansas. After spending a few years as a child living on a ranch near Benton, KS, Burckhardt developed a deep love for all things western. Being a proud member of the Cherokee nation only deepened his interest in history, animals, and native traditions. After earning a degree in journalism from Wichita State University, Burckhardt spent years writing for various publications and eventually worked as a ghostwriter. One of his early assignments was writing a western for Luis Antwoord titled Western: In the Company of Thieves. It was this project for Antwoord that gave Burckhardt an insatiable desire to continue writing westerns under his own name. Burckhardt’s love of westerns carried over into his married life. He was married in 2013 at the Old Cowtown Museum in Wichita, KS. The ceremony was performed in the museum’s First Presbyterian Church and the reception was held in the saloon, until it was interrupted by a gunfight reenactment by actors provided by Cowtown. Burckhardt and his “better half” live with one of his two teenage step-daughters and are actively searching for a rescue dog to add to the family. To reach a wider market, Burckhardt decided to write his books as serial novellas instead of full novels. Patterned after the old cliffhanger movie serials which were popular in the early years of cinema, each saga is divided into five-six novellas. Each novella can easily be read in a weekendmaking them a convenient read for busy people. When a saga is complete, all novellas will be released in a single volume collection with bonus material.
