Texas Romance Author Gives Big Nod To Durango, CO in Christmas Conundrum Novella

Durango, is a small southwestern town in Colorado with a population of about 17,000 people.  It is the home of such attractions such as the Polar Express on the Durango and Silverton Narrow Gauge Railway, the Animas River Valley and the annual Snowdown Festival.  “What appealed to me about Durango was the beautiful winter surroundings and the quaint old fashioned charm of a city in a by gone era,” said Mrs. Noel, “It just exudes romance and the shopping mall presented a perfect plot for a corporate alpha male.”

Christmas Conundrum is a mix of “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” and “It’s a Wonderful Life.” The main character Dakota Jennings is a scrooge like individual that owns a chain of malls.  Dakota hates Christmas and attempts to shut down all holiday activities of malls in his chain of stores.  The Durango Mall is in his hometown and is his latest acquisition. The town revolts against his anti-Christmas policies and dubs him the “Snow Monster.”  Dakota had the town under his thumb until the mayor brought in a secret weapon and former love of his life, Renee Madison to bring in her magic and save Christmas.  According to one 5 Star reader “It’s a wonderful life evolving the story that shows some great things about the human spirit and the Christmas spirit - a real heartwarming tale.”
